Golden bells are ringing for Kristu Jyoti College Bangalore!! Started in 1967, KJC, carries on its legacy to the 50th year. KJC inaugurated its golden jubilee celebrations during its College day on 31st October 2016 with pomp and colour fitting the significance of the event. There was a solemn Eucharist presided over by his Grace Dominic Jala, Archbishop of Shillong and concelebrated by Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, the regional Councillor South Asia, Fr. Joyce Thonikuzhiyil, the provincial Sacred Heart Province Bangalore, Fr. James Kadankavil, the rector of KJC, Fr. Jude Poopanna, the principal of KJC along with more than 55 priests. Public function followed the mass in which more than 300 people, including the staff, students, representatives of various communities and well wishers of KJC participated. Fr. Maria Arokiam, in his keynote address congratulated the college for its contribution to the congregation and Church at large and exhorted all to reflect on the present trends affecting religious to which we are called to respond. His Grace, Dominic Jala launched the two new courses started at KJC. Fr. Provincial declared the Golden Jubilee year open by lighting the Jubilee candle. The formal function was followed by cultural bonanza where music, dance and skit raised the spirit of all gathered in the college auditorium. The solemn celebrations concluded with a sumptuous lunch at 1. 30 p. m. It's an occasion to thank God for the 50 years of grace on KJC, the theological and philosophical institute, which has produced generations of priests who contribute in various levels to the Church and the society.
